Evolve

Done on a PC in Corel Draw, 1991.

Idea was to do something with gay symbols, allowing it to be real approachable, and somewhat evocative/idea causing. I had discovered that safesex gave me a lot of social license to explore masturbation in jackoff clubs, and casually with others. I was feeling like I belonged, now, after never wanting to fuck. I was also finding myself able to read palms. Something I didn't (still don't) advertise, because of its cachet.

I still like this image. Some rich day when I have a plotter, I'll print it as a poster.

Gradations are still widely used in vector art. I still prefer Corel to Illustrator for ease of creation. First learn patterning I guess.

Corel PhotoPaint export is necessary to avoid memory based raster corruptions when writing translations. Even on a machine with 40 megs real memory. Don't even try to do it in Corel Draw. Additionally, I brought this image into Mac after writing raster image.

Gloveboy

Done in Claris Works on Mac as a pixel-based painting, 1997.

Simple, quick, direct. Not reworked or retouched except to lighten the brown color, and add the copyright in Photoshop.

I like the simple very graphic effect. Much like a woodcut. They give me a lot of pleasure, both the doing and the looking. This image is just one value each of pink, light gray-brown, light gray and white. Legacy of old days on limited bit depth systems.

A young guy in the Hole told me about the great time he was having jacking off with gloves. Since then, I've bought many, of all kinds. Mostly work gloves. Fabric, Leather, Rubber, Latex, etc. Keep one for use with lubes (see Lube List on Ideas Page) and one for dry. Yeah, you'll have to learn to jack off with the other hand. Or give one to a friend.

PS: I'm left handed.

Ken

Oils 1971

Done immediately after college graduation.

There is a story behind this painting (no suprise, right?)

Untitled

Woodcut 1978

I had fun with line and shape.

Seated Torso

Commodore 64 Drawing, c. 1984

Yeah, its just a 4 bit machine. And very low res by today's standards. The pix displayed here is a scan from a dot matrix printout from the file. Note the date. I still have my C-64 (and C-128) equipment, though its been denied electricity for many years.
