1989 Hawk GT - Honda NT650

Purchased new in March 1991, while living in Alexandria, VA. Rode extensively up the East Coast. Several trips to NYC, Philadelphia, Hillside Campground, Valinor Farm, the DelMarVa Shore. Rode with my friend Lescelerat to Boston and area, and into Central & Western PA and Pgh., PA, MD., and Delaware. After move to CA, rode daily to work, and general SF transit, to East Bay hills, South to San Gregorio, North along coast. Current mileage: 32,000+.

The name BloodSperm came slowly, following several events of MC Wreck, Beer Bottle Assault at the Hole, and general reflection. The name suits the history, and the general look of the bike on the street. Strong red color, and soft rounded shapes of the red parts contrasted with the angular and straight line shapes of the silvered frame, muffler and frame parts. The Hawk is a bit of a cult bike, holding higher than book value at street prices. It is, with the possible exception of the "SuperHawk", the VTR1000 released by Honda in 1997, the most Italian MC Honda has ever made. Hawks are modified for racing by some owners. They are quite competitive in class. Its a light bike, at apx. 400 lbs., including fluids. I'm light, at 135 lbs., so the match is good. When first released in 1988, the Hawk was a techie bike. 3 valves per cyl, 2 spark plugs per cyl., the all aluminum perimeter frame, and the single-sided cast aluminum swingarm (ELF, France) got lots of attention in the press. The V-Twin 90º engine produces apx. 36-42 hp., depending on tune and exhaust and plugs. Redline of apx 8,500 rpm, and 5 speed transmission is good for 105+ mph on the road.
